In downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, in three city blocks, there are nearly 20 attractions related to Mormon pioneer history and genealogy. These include some of the biggest tourist attractions in the state: the Salt Lake Temple, the Tabernacle, the Conference Center and the Family History Library.

So whether you are a history buff, love gardens, want to search out your family history, or listen to world class musical performance, Salt Lake City's Temple Square is the place for you! Here is a list of a few attractions we recommend!

Things to Do & See at Temple Square

Start off at the North Visitors Center (just a recommendation) and view the Christus Statue. The statue is exquisite and a powerful way to begin your experience. It is located at 50 W. North Temple Salt Lake City, Utah 84150. The North Visitors' Center hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily and admission is always free. Please call 1-801-240-4872 for more information.

Enjoy Mormon Tabernacle Choir Rehearsals on Thursday Evenings or check out one of their events. The Music & Spoken Word is the world's longest-running continuous network broadcast and is carried on more than 2,000 radio and television stations and cable systems. It has been broadcast from locations across the country and around the world. So certainly check out a performance from the "Mo Tab."

Discover how Brigham Young and his family lived in the 1800s, during a free 30-minute tour of the Beehive House.

Visit the Historic Tabernacle This unique Tabernacle was a marvel of its time and is certainly worth seeing. There are guides that can teach you about the organ and the acoustics of this famous building. It is located at 50 W. North Temple Salt Lake City, Utah 84150

The Church History Museum offers an educational experience for the whole family. The museum tells the story of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through educational exhibits and programs. The museum collects and displays Latter-day Saint art and artifacts from around the world for families to enjoy. The museum is located at 45 North West Temple Street Salt Lake City, Utah 84150-3470.

Tour the Conference Center. It is located across the street to the north of the Salt Lake Temple, was completed in April of 2000. If weather permits, you can even take a walk on the landscaped roof.
